Take Mom to Ball’s Falls and Let her Rock with Bob O’Donnell, the Fossil Guy!

Check out all the geology but don’t step in the Dino poop! Join fossil enthusiast, Bob O’Donnel, as he shares is knowledge and humour, and large display of hidden gems in rocks and fossils!  It’s all part of the From Crystals to Gems exhibit at the Centre for Conservation at Ball’s Falls.

Time to Sign up for Summer Adventure Camp!

Date(s): July 2nd, 2012 until  August 31, 2012 | Time:9:00 am – 3:00 pm.

July 2 to August 31.  Best suited children 6-11 years of age.

It is a fun-filled, interactive summer camp exploring the great outdoors featuring hikes, scavenger hunts, weekly themes, games and crafts.  Register for one day, one week, or every week!

Wild About Nature                            July 2-6 & July 30-Aug. 3

Earth, Air, Fire, Water                       July 9-13 & Aug. 6-10

Time Travelers                                   July 16-20 & Aug. 13-17

Eco-Explorers                                     July 23-27 & Aug. 20-24

Best of the Best (Camp Favourites) One Week Only!  Aug. 27-31

Maximum group size: 24 students.  Duration: 9 am to 3 pm, $30 for a single day, $120.00 per week (5 days) per student. Extended hours 8 am to 4:30 pm, an additional $5.00 per day. Must pre-register.

May 5th will be a Gem of a Day to Visit Ball’s Falls. Rock with us!

It’s the opening of the new Exhibit, From Crystals to Gems!  On May 5th, 9 am to 4 pm, explore the fascinating world of nature’s crystals and find out how they grow and differ in form and colour.  Experience the beauty of gemstones and learn what makes them unique in this travelling exhibit from the National Museum of Nature.

Members of the Niagara Peninsula Geological Society will have touch displays and will identify rocks, minerals and fossils for visitors.  A demonstration of jewellry maiking with stone will also be featured.

Regular admission $5.75 for Adults, $4.25 for seniors and students, children 5 years and under are free.

Saturday, April 28th Let’s you Mix Fact with Fiction at Ball’s Falls

Join author Gordon Anderson at Ball’s Falls and the Centre for Conservation, Saturday, April 28th, 1 pm  to 2 pm,  as he presents his new book of fiction, Beyond the Great Water, set in the War of 1812.  Speak with the author and enter the realm where history meets imagination.  Don’t forget to take advantage of the opportunity to buy and autographed copy.

Free with regular admission!

Ball’s Falls is open daily from 9 am-4 pm. Admission: Adults: $5.75, Children/Seniors: $4.25, Car Max Rate: $18.00
